Data Product Owner

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and own the vision, roadmap, and backlog for data products supporting life insurance functions.
  
• Collaborate with business stakeholders (underwriting, actuarial, marketing, compliance) to identify data needs and translate them into clear product requirements.
  
• Partner with data engineers, data scientists, and IT teams to develop scalable, high-quality data solutions (data pipelines, dashboards, analytics platforms).
  
• Prioritize features and enhancements based on business impact, user feedback, and resource availability.
  
• Ensure data products comply with internal governance policies and external regulatory requirements.
  
• Monitor product performance, data quality, and user adoption; use metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and demos with cross-functional teams.
  
• Keep abreast of advancements in data technology, analytics, and insurance industry trends to inform product innovation.
  
• Communicate product status, risks, and opportunities effectively to stakeholders and leadership.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  
• 10 years+ of total experience, with min 3 years in product management,. Must have Life Insurance Experience.
  
• Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL pipelines, data visualization, and analytics tools.
  
• Familiarity with life insurance domain, including underwriting, actuarial workflows, or claims processes is highly desirable.
  
• Experience working in Agile environments and managing product backlogs effectively.
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data topics into business value.
  
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations, and compliance standards relevant to insurance is a plus.
